Objective To investigate the effects of high concentrations of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH) and thyrotropin (TSH) on the determination of human chorionic gonadotropin (β-HCG) concentration. Methods A total of 98 healthy women with normal FSH, LH and TSH were selected as the normal control group from May to October in 2014. 101 healthy women with FSH> 38 IU / L and LH> 12 IU / L were enrolled in this study. 42 cases of young female with TSH> 5.2 m IU / L and normal FSH and LH were female high TSH group; 54 young men with TSH> 5.2 m IU / L healthy physical examination were male high TSH Group, the concentration of β-HCG in each group was detected, and the β-HCG in each group was statistically analyzed. Results The concentration of β-HCG in high FSH group, LH group and high TSH group were higher than those in normal control group, high FSH group and LH group were higher than those in high TSH group (P <0.05). The serum concentration of β-HCG in men with high TSH was higher than that in women with high TSH, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). CONCLUSIONS: High concentrations of FSH and LH in some normal postmenopausal women increase with varying degrees of β-HCG. Female TSH exhibit positive interference with limited positive effects on the value of β-HCG. Some men with high concentrations of TSH may cause pseudo-HCG concentration Rise in different laboratories for menopausal women and men should establish the corresponding reference range, provide a reliable basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
