George Sang is an important writer of 19th-century Western literature. His early works mainly focus on female novels. Among the five works “Indiana”, “Mopra”, “Laia”, “The Marquise” and “Valentine”, the narrators have their own distinctive features: first-person male narrator, Multiple narrators and omniscient narrators. In the first-person male narrator text, Sang uses various strategies to dispel male narrative authority; in multiple narrator texts, the writer shows the female existence situation by creating a polyphonic or pluralistic effect; in the omniscient narrator’s text, The writer shows the awareness of establishing the authority of female writers. However, no matter what kind of narrator, Sang is the theme of showing the tragedy of women, thus ensuring the continuity and unity of the work.
