According to the latest analysis by Chris Hurt, an economist at Purdue University in the United States, the price of maize will rise in 2016, but the price of soybean is uncertain. Hurt, who co-authored the latest Purdue Agricultural Economics Report, predicts that the corn market will be stronger after the floods of early 2015 destroyed some of Indiana’s corn. Hurt said maize prices are expected to rise this winter and next spring, at least enough to recover farm storage costs.
