The purpose of this study was to investigate whether metal-binding proteins are induced in the liver due to induction of mercury injection. One male rat was subcutaneously injected with cadmium (3 mg / kg body weight), and the same dose of mercury was injected intraperitoneally 72 hours later. The liver is removed 72 hours after injection of mercury. The other mouse, who did not pre-treat with cadmium, only received intraperitoneal injections of mercury and removed the liver 24 hours later. Methods of handling the liver and analyzing the metal proteins, mercury, cadmium, zinc and copper contained therein are the same as elsewhere (see Abstract 064). The cadmium, zinc, mercury, and copper in M fractions were in the same peak in the gel filtration of the liver supernatant at 72 hours after mercury injection (pre-treated with cadmium). On the normal rat liver
