Because Campylobacter infections reported to Colindale Infectious Disease Surveillance have been reported since 1977, there are only 3 reported Campylobacter Infections associated with infected cats. In contrast, 97 articles of the same period referred to dogs as a possible source of infection and Campylobacter was isolated from these dogs 61 times. Few cat infections may simply reflect the difficulty of obtaining specimens from cats. The victims of cat-related infections were young children who had had direct contact with kittens who had diarrhea in their families. One of the cases, as reported by Svedhem et al., Is that Campylobacter is paired from the kitten to the patient, which in this case means that they have the same biological profile and the same
