字幕组的英文名称是Fansub Group,汉语里就是“由粉丝加字幕”的意思。这种简称道出了字幕组的历史渊源:字幕组是70年代出现在美国,2000年以后在我国出现,并随着网络技术的发展和DVD等影碟的普及而进入人们的视野。我国的字幕组主要是翻译国外的影视作品和网络游戏资源,是由语言翻译爱好者们集合而成的。虽然字幕组成员们大多是基于个人爱好而翻译,但是字幕组侵权问题却一直未曾淡出人们
