The excavation and excavation report of the Songyuan kiln site in southern China often makes use of the unearthed coins as an important basis for the generation of kiln sites. However, due to the emergence of money shortage in the Song and Yuan Dynasties, copper coins have been drastically lost. The use of banknotes, The quality of coin casting worsened and other reasons led to the circulation of the Southern Song Dynasty and the use of less copper coins, unearthed kiln site also less. Unearthed coins as a reference only infer the upper limit of the kiln age, the lower limit may be significantly beyond the issuance of coins represented by the age, that is, only the Northern Song Dynasty kiln coins may be late to the Southern Song Dynasty or the Yuan Dynasty. Therefore, the age of kiln sites must be combined with the typological analysis of annuities and unearthed artifacts, combined with coins to infer the more correct time of the kiln.
