In the early 1960s, designers throughout the computer industry were seeking solutions to their predicament. As a result of the hard work at IBM, the 360 system was born - the first modular line of computers. The 360 system enables application compatibility across a broad product line that has led to tremendous demand for computing power. This achievement alone will have a significant economic impact, yet the 360 system’s final impact will be even more far-reaching. The birth of the 360 system is a landmark event. - Professor Baldwin (Former Vice President, Harvard Business School) - Professor Clarke (Dean, Harvard Business School)
