目前,横向铸造铝圆棒坯在中小型铝加工厂得到越来越广泛的应用。铝及铝合金圆棒坯横向铸造时,铝液由保温炉过流槽经中间罐注入结晶器与引锭头之间的空间内,一经与水冷的结晶器壁接触,铝液外部便因失去热量而迅速结晶凝固,形成一定厚度的凝壳,中部铝液的热量通过凝壳、结晶壁及冷却水向外传导,随之此凝固层就沿径向朝铸坯中心发展而逐渐增厚,经引锭实现圆棒坯的浇铸(如图1所示)。结晶器是横向铸造铝圆棒坯至关重要的部件。
