This paper presents a new vertical weight machine system. Instead of hydraulics and hammers, it replaces the counterweight with a nitrogen-filled elastic system. This simplifies the counterweight structure of a vertical machine and reduces the space occupied by the counterweight system, thereby improving the column structure, increasing the rigidity of the column, and reducing the total weight of the machine tool.
