This article is a review article on Microstrip Antenna Elements, focusing on theoretical and practical design techniques. Various available substrate materials and the relationship between dielectric constant tolerance and microstrip resonant frequency were reviewed. Several theoretical analysis methods are outlined, including the transmission line method and the mode extension (cavity) method, and numerical methods such as the moment method and the finite element method. Practical design methods for standard rectangular and circular elements, as well as variations of those designs, including circularly polarized microstrips, are given. The quality, bandwidth, and efficiency of a typical microstrip meta-design are discussed. An overview of microstrip antenna and conformal antenna. Finally, recognizing the urgent need for further research and development of such antennas.
