根据采自内华达州9个浸染型金矿床460个岩石碎片样品的研究结果,提出了该类型金矿床的地球化学找矿标志。由于甚至在8m的距离内采得的样品中金含量变化幅度很大,所以难以获得Au品位高的样品。就普查采样而言,指示元素含量乃是可靠的指示剂,其门限值为:100ppm As、1ppm Hg和50ppm Sb。砷是三者中最可靠的指示元素,因为它在所有金矿床中都显著富集。如果指示元素含量达到门限值而Au含量甚低,那么就应该采集更多样品进行研究。成功地寻找浸染型金矿床需要采集大量样品。
