On April 25, CCTV reporters purchased eight randomly selected strawberries in the Beijing market and all detected pesticide residues that could cause cancer. We can not help asking: Can the just-released “Food Safety Law” defend our dinner table? Are we pursuing criminal liability, life ban, administrative detention, whether large-scale fines can be put in place and dispel people’s worries about food safety?
