“储蓄”一词最早出现在战国时代,至于成为专门办理储蓄业务的机构,大致起源于唐代。由于唐代的商业发达,城市里不仅大量出现了经营借贷业务的质库,还出现专门替人寄存、保管钱物的柜坊。到了明代,由于金、银、钱、纸币兑换的需要,出现了许多专门从事钱币兑换的人,并以此为业,开立钱铺,这也就是最早的钱庄,亦称票号或银号。它不仅是经营白银和铜钱置换的场所,一些规模较大的钱铺还开出具有信用票
“Savings ” first appeared in the Warring States Period, as a special deposit-taking business agencies, generally originated in the Tang Dynasty.
