Reading teaching is the most important thing in high school English teaching. However, after careful observation and study of the high school English classroom and students’ responses, the author finds that the teaching effect is not ideal. The main problems are that the teaching mode is rigid, the teacher interprets the language points from the context of the text, and the post-reading activities lack student writing activities.
