The holistic mind-body adjustment method stems from oriental physical and mental science and incorporates the latest findings of modern brain science. A series of studies have shown that the global body-and-mind regulation, through the interaction of the central and autonomic nervous systems, can increase attention and self-regulation, with the effect of reducing stress, maintaining good health and improving performance. This article summarizes the recent findings of the holistic mind-body modulation approach, proposes a mechanism for state changes, and looks forward to future trends in this area.
