The purpose of anti-gastric acid secretion therapy is to reduce gastric acid secretion, in order to mucosal regeneration to achieve ulcer healing. Strong gastric acid inhibitors such as long-acting H ~ + -K ~ + ATPase inhibitors and high-affinity H 2 receptor blockers found in recent years can almost completely stop gastric acid secretion, while having a high ulcer healing rate. However, to date, the optimal level of acid suppression and duration of acid suppression required for the healing rate of peptic ulcer has not been elucidated. Because strong acid suppression may have side effects, it must be clarified what extent of acid suppression can both promote healing and avoid side effects. The authors established a model map showing the relationship between healing of duodenal ulcer and antacid secretion. The acid suppression data was derived directly from the data from 21 trials of seven authors who treated 490 patients with duodenal ulcer with 18 different effective treatments plus placebo and performed a 24-hour intragastric pH Determination. Gastric acid data for these healing ulcer cases were taken from Medline and Ex-
