法国拍卖中国被劫掠的圆明园兽首事件曾经是2009年最热门的公众事件之一。这是一起典型的围绕古代遗产的现代争论,不仅涉及国际法、中法两国的国内法、物权争议与国家主权等,更涉及历史与关于人类文化遗产的民族情感、道德及学术等问题。正好《国际博物馆》2009年第1—2期合刊就是一期关于“文物的归还”的专辑,颇能体现这一方面国际社会的最新进展与认识。
One of the hottest public events in 2009 was the auction of the beehoury at the Summer Palace in France. This is a typical modern controversy surrounding ancient heritage. It involves not only international law, the domestic laws of China and France, disputes over property rights and state sovereignty, but also issues of history and ethnocentrism, ethics and scholarship concerning human cultural heritage. Just “International Museum” 2009 No. 1-2 is a joint issue on the “return of cultural relics,” the album, quite reflect the recent developments in this area and the international community’s understanding.
