现代性是个矛盾概念,说它好,因为它是欧洲启蒙学者有关未来社会的一套哲理设计,在此前提下,现代性就是理性,是黑格尔的时代精神(zeitgeist),它代表人类历史上空前伟大的变革逻辑。说它不好,是由于它不断给我们带来剧变,并把精神焦虑植入人类生活各个层面,包括文学、艺术和理论。在此背景下,现代性就成了“危机和困惑”的代名词。 现代性研究又是一个性质复杂的跨学科课题,它离不开两个历史背景。
Modernity is a contradictory concept, saying that it is good because it is a philosophical design of the European enlightenment scholars about the future society.
