乾隆五年 (1740年 )八月 ,在荷属殖民地爪哇岛巴达维亚城 (今雅加达 )发生了荷兰殖民当局屠杀华侨的“红溪惨案”,近万余华侨遇害。一年后消息传回中国 ,在清统治集团又一次引发是否禁止南洋贸易的争论。争论持续了一年三个月 ,最终以维持雍正以来的开放政策而结束。现从馆藏宫中朱批奏折及军机处录副奏折中选出有关史料予以刊布 ,供研究参考。——编选者 卢经 陈燕平
In August of the year of Qianlong (1740), “Hongxi tragedy” of the massacre of overseas Chinese by the Dutch colonial authorities took place in the capital city of Batavia (now Jakarta) on the Javanese island of Java. Nearly 10,000 overseas Chinese were killed. One year later, the news was sent back to China. After the reign of the Qing ruling group sparked another debate over whether to ban the trade of the South Sea. The debate lasted for three months a year, culminating in the maintenance of the opening-up policy since the reign of Yongzheng. Now from the collection palace Zhu Zhuzhe folded and military aircraft recorded in the fiddle of the selected historical data to be published for research reference. - Editor Lu Jing Chen Yanping
