矿井定向测量是地下开采的基本测量工作之一。在我国目前主要采用的是几何定向法,即在矿井井筒内悬挂垂球线,然后用经纬仪在地面与井下把垂线与测点连接起来。在通过单个竖直井筒的定向测量中,应用最多、精度较高的为连接三角形法,其次就是连接四边形法。连接四边形法允许有较多人员和仪器同时参与定向测量工作,从而缩短定向的时间。在某些井底车场的布置形式下,不利于采用延伸形三角形,此时往往采用连接四边形。因此,连接四边形法在生产实际中是有一定应用价值的。
