2004年10月22—24日,中央电视台与敦煌研究院隆重推出了《敦煌再发现》电视直播节目,敦煌研究院樊锦诗院长异常冷静地面对镜头,说她担心以后参观的人越来越多,对洞窟保护不利。西部大开发给西部带来了千载难逢的经济发展机遇,同时也给文物保护工作带来了新问题、新矛盾。彩陶距今已有3000年以上的历史,甘肃彩陶造型之多样、制作之精美、色彩之艳丽、形式之丰富、内涵之深厚,在世界彩陶文明中占有无与伦比的地位。因此,有一种公认的观点:“世界的彩陶在中国,中国的彩陶在甘肃。”甘肃是“彩陶之乡”。马家窑文化作为中国彩陶文化的杰出代表,发现至今已有80余年了。如今,历经坎坷的马家窑文化正面临着严峻的保护困境。为引起人们对马家窑文化乃至整个西部文物保护的关注,本刊特将《迷失的马家窑》奉献给广大读者。
