放电加工具有机械加工不具备的独特的加工能力。近来它又有不少新的进展。一、扩大放电加工的应用放电加工是一门比较年轻的技术,目前正在探求一个大的突破——一个可与传统切削加工机床相比拟的金属蚀除速率,一旦这一突破实现。放电加工的不少优点在很多场合将使传统的机械加工黯然失色。目前虽还未有很大突破,但是它的某些进展已颇引人注目。加工过程中的劳动量减少了;工具的需要量减少了和放电加工的能力增强等等。
