朱镕基总理访美期间,美国发表了支持中国加入WTO的联合声明,中国加入世贸的问题曾出现明朗的形势。但是,由于美国贸易代表办公室单方面公布了不准确的中方让步清单,由于国内缺乏顺畅的信息传递渠道,由于中国驻南斯拉夫使馆被炸,中国加入WTO的前景忽然变得模糊不清了。甚至,国内一些人士对加入WTO的必要性提出了质疑。近日,国家信息中心召开了“WTO与中国经济高级研讨会”,来自国家信息中心、中国人民银行、外经贸部、信息产业部、国家计委、国家内贸局、国家经贸委、国家机械局、世界银行、国务院发展研究中心的官员、专家与学者与会,就中国加入WTO的利弊发表了坦诚的看法。
During Premier Zhu Rongji’s visit to the United States, the United States issued a joint statement in support of China’s accession to the WTO. China’s accession to the WTO has seen a clear situation. However, the prospects of China’s accession to the WTO have suddenly become vague because of the unmanaged Chinese concession list unilaterally released by the U.S. Trade Representative Office due to the lack of a smooth domestic channel of information transmission and the bombing of the embassy of China in Yugoslavia. Even some people in China questioned the necessity of joining the WTO. Recently, the State Information Center held the “WTO and China’s Economic Advanced Seminar”, from the National Information Center, the People’s Bank of China, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, the Ministry of Information Industry, the State Development Planning Commission, the State Domestic Trade Bureau, the State Economic and Trade Commission, the State Bureau of Machinery , Officials from the World Bank and the State Council Development Research Center, experts and scholars attended the meeting and made a frank view on the pros and cons of China’s accession to the WTO.
