1959年是我国社会主义建设更大跃进的一年。在这一年的开始,国家技术委员会、冶金工业部、化学工业部、石油工业部、煤炭工业部、商业部于1月22日～29日在河北保定,召集有全国各省、市、自治区近九百名代表参加的全国洗煤、炼焦、收油现场会议。大会交流、学习、讨论了有关洗煤、炼焦、收油各种先进经验,会议期间还在保定进行现场参观。这次会议对当前炼焦运动推向新的高潮,具有重大意义。 1958年,炼焦工业在“以钢为纲,全面跃进”的带动下,掀起一个全民炼焦运动,炼焦工业有了高速度的发展,保证了钢帅升帐,取得了很大的成绩:全国的焦炭产量从1957年的810万吨增加到2300万吨,比1957年增长近三倍。美国焦炭产量从850万吨增加到2180万吨用了13年。而我们只用一年的时间。这充分说明我国去年焦炭增长速度是很快的。去年,全国各企业贯彻了区域配煤的方针。在煤炭部协作下,有些企业采取区域配煤后焦炭灰份大大降低,如石景山钢鉄公司由1957年的11.59％降到9.4％,尤其是太钢、本钢的高炉生产由于焦炭和铁矿质量好,高炉操作好,使高炉利用系数达到世界最先进水平2.2—2.4。

US coke production increased from 8.5 million tons to 21.8 million tons for 13 years. And we only use one year’s time. This fully shows that China’s coke growth rate last year is very fast. Last year, various enterprises across the country implemented the principle of coal blending in the region. With the cooperation of the Ministry of Coal Industry, some enterprises reduced the coke ash content greatly after they took the regional coal blending. For example, the company of Shijingshan Iron & Steel dropped from 11.59% in 1957 to 9.4%, especially in Taigang. The production of blast furnace in Benxi Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. was caused by coke and iron ore Good quality, good blast furnace operation, the blast furnace utilization factor reached the world’s most advanced level 2.2-2.4.
