工业上用的催化剂一般都是分散在載体上以提高它的分散性,机械强度,对溫度作用及毒物的抵抗性等。同时載体对催化剂的活性及选擇性具有密切的影响,因此关于載体的研究在工业上具有十分重要的意义。苏联和其他国家学者曾指出載体的化学組成,比表面,載体上催化剂的浓度或遮盖度等都对催化剂的活性有很大的影响,甚至会改变催化剂的选擇性。近来И.Е.Неимарк,Г.К.Боресков等研究孔性对扩散的影响时还指出为着使表面充分利用,在催化剂中需要有大量大孔徑的过道孔。可是过去这些工作中都沒有注意
