原屬廣東省欽廉專區的欽縣、合浦、靈山、防城四縣和北海市,在解放以後,為了便於發展該地區的經濟、交通和肅清匪患,於一九五一年五月經中央人民政府政務院批准,委託廣西省頷導,一九五二年三月正式劃歸廣西省。四年以來,在廣西省的領導下,完成了上述任務。現在,為了對南海國防和漁業加强統一領導,特决定:除原由合浦縣劃出的浦北縣仍歸廣西省領導外,將欽縣、合浦、靈山、防城四縣和北海市仍劃歸廣東省領導。
