Fifteen years after Agatha Christie, who was hailed as “The Queen of Detective Stories” by western literary critics, a star of a detective story appeared in the English literary world of the 1990s. She is the “Agatha Christie second”, “the king of new reasoning,” said Miner Warte. Although these two students were different at the same time, they were both outstanding representatives of the female writers in the British detective novels. Some often talked about their similarities and inheritance relations. In fact, the two are quite different in many aspects of their novels. This article intends to compare Christy and Wortse from the aspects of characterization, social themes, and creative features, and to explore the literary value of their works.
