Bacillus bacteria naturally occur in soil and water and also contaminate food. A small number of bacteria can cause food poisoning. Among them, B.cereus is more common, B.brevis and B.firmus are rare. In September 1986, we isolated an aerobic bacterium from a food poisoning test of 76 people.
