Domingos Sequeira中学在1955年投入使用,本次对它的现代化改造升级从属于由葡萄牙Paraue Escolar-EPE发起的中学现代化升级项目。学校原有三栋建筑,教学楼(包括行政办公区、一个小型的博物馆、图书室和教师休息室)、体育馆(包括运动场地、更衣室、淋浴房、食堂等)和教研楼。第一个问题在于三栋建筑各自独立,没有设施可将其连通起来,造成极大的不便。其次,功能规划不够合理,如图书馆与资料中心分属于不同的楼层,使用不方便;没有一个足够大的空间可用于举行稍大规模的会议或集会。再次,教研楼中有部分空间被废弃,处在闲置中。同时,还有一个问题为,学校原本的设计是建立在男、女生分开教育的基础上的,校内的大部分空间都被分为两种:男生专用区与女生专用区,这明显已不合时宜。由此,这次改造主要完成了以下几个工作:
The Domingos Sequeira High School was put into operation in 1955 and this upgrade to its modernization belongs to the modernization of the secondary school initiated by Paraue Escolar-EPE in Portugal. The school has three original buildings, teaching buildings (including the administrative office area, a small museum, library and teachers lounge), gymnasium (including sports venues, locker rooms, shower rooms, canteens, etc.) and teaching and research buildings. The first problem is that the three buildings are independent. There is no facility to connect them together, causing great inconvenience. Secondly, the functional planning is not reasonable enough. For example, libraries and information centers belong to different floors and are inconvenient to use. There is not enough space to hold a slightly larger conference or assembly. Again, some space in the teaching and research building was abandoned, in idle. At the same time, there is another problem. The original design of the school was based on the separate education of boys and girls. Most of the space in the school was divided into two types: boys-only and girls-only areas, which are obviously out-dated. As a result, this transformation mainly completed the following tasks:
