范汉杰将军原名其迭,1894年9月25日生于广东大埔县三河镇浒梓村。1912年就读于广州优级师范,后被选送就读于广东陆军测量学堂,1924年6月考入黄埔军校第一期,毕业后,长期服务于国民党部队,官至战区副司令长官。笔者与范是在1933年11月“闽变”中相识的,当时他任十九路军副参谋长,笔者任该军总部军士教导队长(即总部警卫营长)。从此,彼此便结成“八同”之交,即同是广东同乡、同是黄埔同学、同是一个部队的同事、同时战败当了俘虏、同时成为战争罪犯、同时被特赦释放、同时担任全国政协文史专员、同住一个宿舍楼。彼此“八同”之谊,直至他与世长辞。
