Faust is a masterpiece that casts Goethe’s lifelong effort. Contains a deep social and historical content and philosophy of life. However, many works of interpretation still focus Faust’s image to the point that Faust is merely represented by the bourgeoisie. “This is the result of the economic foundation determining the role of the superstructure.” Art is due to Realistic and above reality, and thus resorted to “not only a particular class of emotions, but universal humanity transcending a particular class.” Faust is the case. This paper discusses the issue of life tension of “limited” and “infinite” in “Faust” based on this probe of universal humanity.
