为了从根本上扭转我国汽车工业品种少,质量差的被动局面,中国汽车工业公司自1985年以来,在汽车行业上试行“蓝皮书”检测,即从零部件生产、清洁度,一直到总成、整车质量,进行系统检查评定。一年多来,它以强大的生命力,在汽车工业质量管理这个舞台上,表现了疏淤多浚、催人进取的活力。1985年初,又在总结货车蓝皮书实践经验的基础上,组织编写了《客车轿车质量检查评定办法》(即客车蓝皮书),并于七月正式出版。中汽公司还计划编辑出版其它车种(越野车、摩托车、微型车等)蓝皮书。蓝皮书的出现,被人们称作汽车工业质量管理的新突破。我们回忆一下它的原委,总结一下经验、教训,对于工作在汽车质量战线上的同志来说,是不无教益的。

To sum up our experience and lessons learned, it is non-instructive for those comrades working on the quality front of the automobile.
