This paper introduces the tidal energy resources in the world and China, reviews the history of tidal energy development in the world and looks forward to the prospects of tidal energy development. This paper mainly introduces various hydropower units and their key technologies which are suitable for tidal power station, such as bulb tubular turbine, all-round turbine, orthogonal turbine and double-stroke turbine.
