Logarithmic CMOS image sensor provides a large dynamic range (about 120dB). There is a lack of a simple way to eliminate FPN in logarithmic image sensor design. A logarithmic mode CMOS image sensor achieves a larger dynamic range than a linear APS. A new FPN suppression technique is used in logarithmic mode sensors. That is, adding a switching transistor to a logarithmic pixel in combination with a double sampling circuit, the implementation of this technique allows the reading of a logarithmic pixel to significantly reduce the FPN level.
