喜盘,是喜庆活动所用托盘。木质,使用时在盘子里垫一张红纸或红布,将吉祥喜庆物品摆放在盘里端给对方。这件喜盘,来自黄河口山西移民。盘子呈长方形,如同秦汉时期的食案,四角翘起如莲瓣,中间纹样为四只蝙蝠环绕一个变体的“寿”字。蝙蝠的蝠与“福”谐音,“莲”与“连”同声,福、寿、莲合在一起就是“福寿连绵”的意思。福寿纹样显示,这是祝寿专用的托盘。用盘子而不用手,是一种礼仪。如《红楼梦》第29回,贾母率家人去清虚观打醮时,王熙风为孩子所求的道符,就是张道士用托盘端出来的,还特地在盘子里垫了块“大红蟒缎经袱子”。
