Recently, the incidence of elderly people with Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) has increased. However, there is still a lack of detailed study comparing the differences between the elderly and young people. This article retrospectively studied the relationship between GBS clinical features and age. Methods The American National Institutes of Neurology, Traffic Dysfunction and National Institute of Stroke (NINCDS) were used to select the cases of GBS diagnostic criteria. First, patients with diminished muscle reflex including electrophysiological stimulation show demyelinating nerve disease; secondly, patients with Miller-Fisher syndrome without limb weakness (ophthalmoplegia, ataxia, and reflexes). Except for chronic multiple nerve root inflammation patients. Using the Medical Research Council (MRC) rating system, limb weakness was recorded. Results 72 patients, mean age 44.1 years (range 2 to 85 years), 41 of 20 to 59 years (57%) were young, ≥60
