随着人们对居住环境园林化的品质追求,现代居住环境更加注重景观的塑造,在珠江三角洲地区,房地产开发水景的景观成为评价该项目是否高品质社区环境的重要因素,因此居住小区水景景观规划设计也受到关注。然而当前住宅区水景设计大都存在重形式轻内涵、重人工轻自然等问题,一些项目盲目的相互抄袭和粗制滥造使本应成为点睛之笔的水景景观成为聊胜于无的鸡肋景观;还有一些项目盲目复制,照抄照搬国外的水景设计,使水景景观缺失当地的地域风格和特点,或者根本不考虑居民的需要。如何利用现代的理论和方法改进居住区水景规划设计成为景观设计师关注的问题。
