Professor Lei Tongming is the head of the Department of Water Sediment and Soil in the National Water Quality Research Laboratory of the United States. On September 4, 1980, he made an academic report on the issue of soil fertility in modern agriculture in the United States at the request of Jiangsu Soil Association. The report is now collated (without my own review), for readers reference. American agriculture is very developed. The main feature is the high degree of modernization has been to factory-type production, and gradually using computer control. Currently, only 5% of the country’s population is engaged in agriculture, and the produced food not only meets the needs of its own country, but also is a major food exporter. The history of U.S. agricultural modernization is not long, but many problems have been exposed and potential. The heart of the problem is soil. It is well known that plant production and animal production are biological processes. Biology from the development → → reproductive → dead → decay, decomposition → Health, the cycle is more than. This cycle is based on the soil. However, once agriculture in the United States has gone from factory to factory, it neglects the foundation of soil and undermines the cycle. From the economy
