笔者自1996年开始,先后用夏蜡梅和美国蜡梅为亲本,进行正反交套袋杂交,于2001年获得杂交果实1枚,含8粒种子,当年秋天播种,仅存活1株幼苗。该杂种植株于2006年4月初次开花,花和叶的颜色、大小、形状等性状介于亲本之间。杂种夏蜡梅的成功培育,不但填补了我国40多年来的空白,为我国更好地保护和利用夏蜡梅资源提供了有效途径,也给园林绿化带来新的优良品种。夏蜡梅(Sinocalycanthus chinensis Cheng et.
