Located in Dongdaemun, Ningbo, Ningbo, Jiangdong District is a new downtown area that is mainly developed in Ningbo City. It is also the hinterland of Beilun Port, the largest deep-water port in China. In 1995, it was named as “National Advanced Area for Scientific and Technological Work” by the State Science and Technology Commission and was named as Advanced County (City, District) Science and Technology Commission of Zhejiang Province by Science and Technology Committee of Zhejiang Province. In 1996, it proposed the grand cross-century goal of building a “new science and technology industrial and trade zone” compatible with the modern socialist port city.
