A new offshore oil terminal was built in the Gulf of Mexico. In order to absorb the impact of the seesaw, tugboat and tanker on the side, 200 orange fenders were used. The fenders were manufactured by Goodyear, based on the requirements of the Lafayette Petroleum Institute in Los Angeles. It is a ring 6 inches thick, 9 inches wide and 31 inches in diameter, weighing 142 pounds each. It is made from strong, impact-absorbing polyurethane. In each of the 10 steel-made foundation pillars, 20 are arranged to achieve the purpose of absorbing the impact force when swaying.
