In the late 1960s and early 1970s, long-term confrontational East-West relations entered a “honeymoon.” This great change is due to the fact that the United States and the Soviet Union need to ease their situation in Europe from their respective foreign strategies. However, West Germany’s “New Oriental Policy” toward the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe in the late 60s is also an important factor. This article tries to discuss the main contents and goals of Adenauer’s East Policy, the relations between Germany and Sudan in the period of Adenauer and the causes of Haltenism. The Federal Government of Germany, which was Adenauer’s prime minister (1949-1963), was established with the support of the United States. Adenauer pursued a policy of pursuing the United States toward the West and “leaning to the West” toward the outside world, and a completely hostile party to the Soviet Union and Eastern European countries
