２０００年德国汉诺威世界博览会的主题是“人──自然──技术”，建筑好比是生命有机体；说明建筑有机体的实效能被其自身构成的综合效果所验证。就像有机体的发展和进化，取决于建筑躯体内各部份之间适度的协同作用。骨骼是建筑内部的支撑结构，表皮是建筑外面的包裹层。生态建筑的皮与骨等同于有机生物体内在的和谐与统一的内在关系。有机的建筑与结构的配合与协作能力是对生态建筑本体的验证。因此生态建筑观是自然、技术与功能的统一；提出了高生态即高科技的口号。
The theme of the 2000 World Expo in Hannover, Germany, was “Human - Nature - Technology.” Architecture is like an organism of life. It shows that the effectiveness of a building organism can be verified by its own comprehensive effect. Much like the development and evolution of organisms depends on the modest synergy between the parts of the body of the building. Bone is the internal support structure of the building, the skin is the outer layer of the building envelope. The skin and bone of an ecological building are equivalent to the internal harmony and unity of organic organisms. Organic building and structure of the cooperation and collaboration ability is the verification of ecological architecture ontology. Therefore, the concept of ecological architecture is the unity of nature, technology and function; the slogan of “high ecology, high technology” is put forward.
