语调是英语口语的关键,准确的语调能传达说话者正确的态度和情感,反之会造成误解,阻碍交流。大学生英语语调存在很多问题。本研究以Halliday(1963)的英语调群切分和调的语调三重系统为理论基础,结合相关语调理论及国内英语语调研究成果,以一名在校非英语专业大学生的英语语调为实验对象,从陈述句、特殊疑问句、一般疑问句和反义疑问句等四种句型入手,对比英语本族语者,分析其在句子重音分布和调核语调方面的异同,以分析该受试者语调特征,帮助其发现英语语调不足,改善英语口语水平。
Intonation is the key to spoken English. Accurate intonation can convey the correct attitude and emotion of the speaker. Conversely, misunderstanding and obstruction of communication can occur. There are many problems with college students’ English tone. In this study, based on Halliday’s (1963) triplet system of English harmonic segmentation and transfer of intonation, combined with related intonation theory and the research findings of English intonation, this study uses an English intonation of non-English majors in college as experimental subjects, From the four sentence patterns of the declarative sentence, special interrogative sentence, general interrogative sentence and antisense interrogative sentence, this paper compares the similarities and differences of sentence stress distribution and intonation in English native speakers to analyze the intonation characteristics of the subject, It found that English lack of tone, improve the level of spoken English.
