Studying them can help to interpret many major phenomena and currents of thought in contemporary American literature. This article first discusses the three dilemmas faced by “academic writers” and their challenges to the college atmosphere, teaching and writing, the relationship between writers and critics and theorists, and points out the advantages and disadvantages of “academic writers” On behalf of poet and academic poet on behalf of Kenneth Cork’s poetry as an example, the “academic writer” group characteristics were discussed.
