目前有一种比较流行的观点,主张以市场为基准筛选文化,认为市场所需要的,也是文化所应肯定、维护、提倡的.这种观点对市场与文化关系的理解,显然过于狭隘.作为市场经济社会,当然要在市场经济这个总的框架基础上构建文化,而文化也确应发挥其服务于市场经济的作用和功能.但在市场经济条件下,文化的构成却并不应单纯由市场要求决定,文化的社会功能也不应仅局限在服务于市场经济.文化的构建及功能的发挥显然应从以下两方面展开:其一,文化的构建应从完善市场秩序、从市场经济内在包含的一套有关人性的设计方案出发.与之相应,文化应发挥其服务于市场经济的功能.其二,文化的构建应从完善社会之角度出发.与之相应,文化应在匡正社会失衡、促进社会进步和人的全面发展方面担当重要作用和功能.
