The levels of serum zinc, copper, renal function, serum albumin and urinary protein were observed in 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 nephrectomy rats at the 10th week after operation, compared with those of the sham-operated non-excised kidneys , Found no significant changes in serum zinc and copper in 1/4 and 1/2 nephrectomy animals, and 3/4 nephrectomy animals with renal failure, significant proteinuria and hypoproteinemia, serum zinc, copper decreased . Correlation analysis showed that serum zinc was positively correlated with plasma albumin and negatively correlated with urinary protein, while Scr and BUN had no significant correlation. Serum copper did not show significant correlation with these measured values. Research suggests that serum zinc levels in the absence of renal tissue may be due to a decrease in its carrier, albumin, and a significant loss of urine protein, which may not be affected by Scr and BUN. The mechanism of serum copper level reduction remains to be further studied
