闽北是第二次国内革命战争时期的革命根据地。一九二八年秋,闽北爆发了大规模的农民武装起义,在斗争中产生了闽北的红色武装——民众队。在同国民党反动派的长期艰苦的斗争中,由民众队到红军第五十五团;由闽北独立团至闽北独立师乃至苏区各地的地方武装,闽北红军和地方武装不断发展壮大,成为整个闽浙赣革命根据地的红色武装的坚强一翼。主力红军长征和北上抗日先遣队出发后,闽北红色武装成为闽浙赣地区的重要支柱,驰骋于闽浙赣三省二十余县,
Northern Fujian is the revolutionary base for the Second Revolutionary Civil War. In the autumn of 1928, a large-scale peasant armed uprising broke out in northern Fujian Province, and during the struggle there was a red armed forces-popular team in northern Fujian. In the protracted and arduous struggle with the Kuomintang reactionaries, the people’s team went to the 55th Regiment of the Red Army and the armed forces of the Red Army and local militaries in northern Fujian Province continued to grow and develop as local armed forces from the North Fujian Independence Regiment to the independent divisions in Northern Fujian and even the Soviet Area became Zhejiang, Jiangxi revolutionary base throughout the red armed strong wing. After the long march of the main Red Army and the advance anti-Japanese advance team northward departed, the red armed forces in northern Fujian became important pillars in the regions of Fujian, Zhejiang, and Jiangxi and drove over 20 counties in Fujian, Zhejiang, and Jiangxi provinces.
