八音是中国古代对乐器的统称。《周礼·春官》中把乐器按照制作材料的不同分为金、石、土、革、丝、木、匏(páo)、竹八类,称八音,是最早的乐器分类法之一。金音包括编钟、特钟、铙等;石音包括编磬、特磬等;土音包括埙等;革音包括鼓等;丝音包括古琴、古瑟等;木音包括柷(zhù)、敔(yǔ)等;
